We felt so badly for them-- have the ranchers forgotten them? They're grazing on a huge plot of land, goes on for maybe 15 miles. But then if they get rounded up the future isn't any better for them, is it? They didn't look that unhappy but sure stared down our house. Molly was good around them- only mild barking- all her training pays off.
Great photo! Cows, especially beef cows like those in your picture, don't mind cold weather or snow much. Their coats are thick and hold in heat and stay dry near the skin. Really they hate the heat a lot more and suffer much more from it.

Poor cows. Maybe they need snow gear. ;)
What a beautiful photo!
I often want to stop my car and photograph cows, but it's a little dicey in traffic.
Glad to see the barbed wire fence.
