24/7 with Whinsey?

Let's see if this works now. My first attempt didn't work, but now it may be working, with image of Whinsey different for each hour, so in theory even if you visit at 2 am there she'll be.

She's ... she's talking on her cell phone, and, and and... it says the time is about 14!! (That's 2, and it's a little after 2.) Wow!! Can you animate this so she flips her hair or anything like that? Or do they have to be stills that change on the hour. VERY EXCITING.

Yeah, I forgot to adjust for military time. Yes, she could have whole little scenes. Linda, this is what always trips me up in Flash. I get so eager to make the code work that I just stick quick art in, and since I'm not being paid for it, then I go on to the next thing that interests me, and never seem to go back and make things look so good that maybe someone would actually HIRE ME!

What I found worked with my funky Flash software today was using the same system as in the code for the calendar, ie each hour is a frame within one movie clip rather than a spot on the main time line.

I'm so glad you get as excited by the possibilities of what minimal Flash code can provide for fun.

Whinsey's getting ready for a date now. But honestly, shouldn't she close the curtain? She has zero modesty.

I understand about the code and just wanting to do something quick and make it work. I used to paint and I would make little sketches to go by because I was not a spontaneous type of painter. But I would get so excited about the act of painting that I would never take the time to do a careful sketch, even though I would follow each sketch to the EXTREME. So the paintings would be painted with such care, but were always "off" in a big way.

But actually, do you think you need to put the time on Whinsey? Maybe it's more of a surprise without it...I'm not sure. If people come back to it, they'll pick up on it right away ...

If you asked Whinsey where she was from, she might say "I DA HO!"

I'm going to put this as a side piece on Whinsey's blog, but put it here first to test it out. Thanks for testing it!

She seems to be working at the moment. The chicken in the earlier post is working too. Both are cute :)
