My Favorite Ornament

Mighty Gator Gal. Jon bought a tree while I watched the Time Warner guy wiggle into our crawl space. We are online again, and the tree is all decorated.

I keep wondering where I packed away some of the ornaments. And also whether we need a tree next year; it's a lot of work, isn't it?

I thought of you and your mother last night as I was trying to untangle a bunch of snowman ornaments. The little carrot noses were getting pulled off by the hanging wires....

Ha, funny. You remembered how my mother hates carrot noses on snowmen. But she sure liked Santas. In our little Christmas garden assemblage we must have 15 Santas (I didn't put them all on display), but not a single snowman. Maybe snowmen came into the Christmas symbol barn later.

Jon does the lighting, which is the hard part of a tree I think, and Dinah was out, so I actually enjoyed decorating it this year. I was decoration boss.

That thing looks like something from your cartoons. Did you make (or enhance) it?

No, can you believe it? I adjusted the contrast, that's all. I bought it at BULLOCK'S, years ago. For awhile they were selling nutty shiny ornaments, and I'm compulsive about all ornaments being shiny.

yes, it adds a lot if they reflect light

I think I break as many ornaments hanging them as I purchase each year.
