My Mother's Christmas Garden

Here is the true story my mother wrote about the Christmas garden house. It's a pdf I made from a booklet she gave us several years ago.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I think this is the most beautiful Christmas story I have ever heard. Thanks so much.

Thanks for your comments on my mother's story, and for taking the time to read it during the holidays.

My grandmother grew up as an orphan, raised by her grandmother. Such a sad start in life, but not unusual at that time.

My mother describes it so poignantly I think, and she's always been an excellent writer and story teller. All her attempts at publishing (her adult life, and now she's 92), have been frustrating, until I published one of her children's books on lulu.com.

Odd that she has never liked reading fiction.

Sometimes I think true stories are just so much more compelling than fiction. But here children's books were fiction?

SG, I agree that true stories are often more compelling than fiction. Her children's books were fictional. But all her writing has the revealing details observed, which biographies often omit. Her favorite biography, read every year when she visited us, is Charmed Lives by Michael Korda..

If I only had a Kindle...
I could download Charmed Lives for $8.76.
