Spaghetti

Chickens like spaghetti when it's warm and moist. I wish I'd gotten the picture when they were running around with long strands like they were worms. When we cook too much pasta, we give them what's left over. They get bored with any one food in about three minutes though and go back to looking for bugs.

And here's a cooking idea, tested today. We had pesto for lunch, made in Cuisinart. The basil was a little brown and winter bitter so I threw in a handful of those little tomatoes that are being grown so sweet these days. They chopped up into little red pieces which, against the green of the pesto, looked like something for somebody's office party. And sweetened up the pesto too.

Those chickens are so pretty and they have such good taste. Spaghetti is my favorite food, too, and it sounds like we eat it the same way--long strands like worms (but I'm not so crazy about bugs).

I'm impressed that your chickens like to try different food. My bird freaks if anything unusual shows up in his dish, and only eats the red and orange kibble from his food. He'll eat the green ones if he's hungry, but he won't touch the yellow ones.
Pretty chickens, by the way. Do they ever need to be groomed the way a fluffy dog or cat does?

Namowal, the rooster needs a spur trimmed but I'm afraid to do the job. Chickens do have very defined tastes-- always surprises me what they won't eat, Linda. Stray, I'll send you some but probably not this week.
