How frustrating for both of you, struggling to communicate. I used to try to go with the intonation to determine how Dad felt about what he was saying. This brackets in an interesting way with Linda's poetry post.

Aphasia is an odd thing. Usually I can figure out what's going on in terms of context, but not always.
Frustrating indeed, but it makes me wonder about how brains work.
