Peach and Blessing

I've decided, reluctantly, to find new homes for my birds, and it hasn't been an easy decision. First I posted on a pigeon forum, and got some weird responses there, none of which really worked out.

So I took the craigslist step. The first week, just offering the least desirable set of birds, I got a flurry of emails from a guy who could barely spell and didn't seem to know where Hollywood was, much less Northridge. When I suggested a specific place and time to meet up he panicked, "not so fast!". Like we were going on a date or something.

So I waited a week and posted today. Here's one of the responses:

HELLO ! IS BIRDS STILL AVALIABLE ? I CAN PICK UP TOMMOROW MORNING & OFFER YOUR CHOICE SODAS THESE FOR MY RETIRE DAD HE HAD BIG AVAIRY IN BACK YARD IF STILL AVALIBLE PLEASE CALL 714-***-**** CELL. THANK MUCH.
PEACH & BLESSING

the soda part really stopped me. But sounds like a nice guy and I wish him much peach.
another one:

hi
call me at
818
***-****
t-u
Yair

that one was formatted at extreme right of email in tiny letters. Anyway, later today a woman contacted me and I could hear birds in the background. She said birds are her hobby and she would possibly take them all. She's going to contact me tonight or tomorrow. She sounded really nice.

Funny how when you gave away your fish awhile back they ended up at Barbara Streisand's place. Yet the offer to give away birds enticed a bunch of nutjobs. (I see you didn't give peach a chance!)
I'm glad the most recent person seems to be decent.

Of course you want your birds flocking to their nicest home, but I wonder how you resisted the soda offer. I think I might have made an appointment JUST to see. Isn't it strange to think that chances of world peach might depend on such a tiny linchpin?

(ON the other hand, maybe I can think these things because I don't have REAL beautiful birds to put in a real, beautiful new places. Whew.)

I just saw that you indeed gave your birds to the woman whose birds you could hear in the background. I know you're sad but I'm glad someone who has a nice bird home came along.

I have a friend named Peach so thought they might have just been signing their names....

woah it's hard to give away long loved pets. The lady who took them all clearly knew how to handle birds and hand caught all of them with no net, which isn't easy, especially when they're panicking.

She seemed odd, but birds are her life so I guess that comes with the territory.

I was awake for hours tonight listening to the mockingbird, missing the sound of the doves.

I think English is a second language for Peach.

Sorry you had to give them away, but it sounds as though they have a good home now. Bird ladies are often weird, but they do love their birds and take good care of them. Can you go visit if you want to?
